Summer Beauty Must-Haves

May brought the world's hottest month on record, and June brought us the first day of summer. What are you doing to take care of yourself and protect your body from the occasional heat wave? Besides staying well hydrated, I've got a few choice products that will help keep you looking your best despite the rising temperatures!

1.) FACE: Colorescience Sunforgettable Mineral Sunscreen Brush  - $57 USD

Imagine you're out and about on a sunny day. You applied sunscreen under your makeup earlier, but you're due for a reapplication. Do you risk messing up your makeup to protect your skin, or do you risk saving your makeup but burning up? How about neither? Colorescience has solved this problem with their awesome product. It's a mineral powder sunscreen that you can put on over your makeup to save your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays. It's a godsend on hot sunny days, particularly when you want to keep your makeup intact!

2.) LIPS: Smith's Rosebud Salve - $7 USD

My sister first introduced me to Rosebud Perfume Co.'s lip balm, and my lip game changed forever! It's so soothing, it smells delicious, and I love the packaging. The price isn't too bad either! You can find it in many stores, from Sephora to Indigo.

3.) SKIN: Bliss Lemon & Sage Body Butter - $29 USD

Although I have yet to try this product first hand, it comes highly recommended to me by friends who swear by it. The fresh lemon smell is reminiscent of a day at the spa, and the formula absorbs well so as not to stick to your summer clothes!

4.) NAILS: Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream - $6 USD

For another refreshing lemon scented product, give your cuticles a hydrating bath in this cuticle cream! Burt's Bees products are great natural skin care choices and are fantastic alternatives to other, harsher skin care lines.

 5.) HAIR: Kiehl's Damage Repairing & Rehydrating Leave-In Treatment - $25 USD

I use this leave in treatment fairly regularly, partly for the delicious smell, but mostly for the amazing affect it has on my dry hair! I have split ends (mind you, I'm long overdue for a haircut...). This product never fails to leave my hair feeling silky smooth, with no heavy oily residue unlike many leave in treatments.

Hot, sunny weather is many peoples' summer dream come true. If that's the case for you, then enjoy it! Just don't forget to take care of your skin to ensure that the elements don't take too much of a toll on you.
