Valentine's & Galentine's DIY Gift Wrap

Gifts are always so fun to give (and to receive of course!) and one of my favourite things to do with the gifts I've bought or made for others is wrapping them! I love to wrap gifts and put an extra special touch on them so that the person receiving the gift is just as excited with the way it looks before it's unwrapped, as they are when they see the actual gift. Most of us put a lot of thought into the gifts we give and so why not wrap them in the most beautiful way possible?

I had a few gifts to wrap for Galentine's and Valentine's so I went to my favourite gift wrap supply store Essential Packaging. Our family moved this past Summer and I was so excited to be just minutes away from Essential Packaging because I'm a bit of a paper/wrap/decorating junkie!!

One of my favourite products that they carry are these beautiful coloured boxes. They come in many different sizes and colours, and they're perfect for any small item (like jewelry!!). All you need is to pick up some pretty ribbons, stickers and tags to create a beautifully wrapped gift.

You can also choose a cute take out box like the ones you get when you order Chinese food to go. These take out boxes also come in different colours. I chose this bright pink to match my Galentine's & Valentine's theme. I simply placed my gift into the box, sealed it with this cute metallic silver heart sticker (also from Essential Packaging) and added some decorative ribbons onto the metal handle to make it even more pretty.

Another great idea for wrapping gifts is using white or kraft paper. Essential packaging sells these in small rolls and they are also handy for when your kids want to spend some time drawing and colouring. I wrapped one of the coloured gift boxes with the white paper and took out my favourite Sharpie's to create a pretty design of my own.

I also did this at Christmas for most of my gifts. You can have lots of fun creating your own wrapping paper design and the skies the limit on what your finished product will look like. Valentine's themed stickers and ribbons also are a great way to add some extra pretty to your gift.

I hope this gave you some great ideas on how to wrap your gifts this Valentine's Day. Don't forget Galentine's Day is February 13th, so if you have a special friend in your life, this is a great way to celebrate her with a sweet little treat wrapped beautifully by you!
