3 Looks To Wear To An Outdoor Wedding

It’s that time of year again – wedding season!

My sister was recently married, and it was such a blast. The amount of work that we all put into decorating, and DIY’ing (and a little bit of drinking) was crazy! It was well worth it in the end, and one of my favourite parts of the festivities was checking out all of the gorgeous outfits some of the guests were wearing.

It got me thinking about what I would have worn if I had been a guest. I combed a few of my favourite sites and scrambled together three different styles for three degrees of formality: casual, semi-casual, and formal. If you find yourself looking for some wedding-guest inspiration, check out these looks!

1) Casual: Beaded Dress – H&M ($69.99 CAD)

Going to an outdoor wedding? This beaded dress from H&M is perfect for a casual ceremony/reception. It’s low maintenance, and it comes in a super cute blush pink. I’m thinking that a pair of nude sandals, like these ones from Aldo, would complement this dress perfectly. I've paired this cute swing dress with our Charlie Rainbow Moonstone studs, and an elegant stack of bracelets, to compliment and not take away from the fancy crystal neckline. Outdoor wedding pro-tip: double check the weather forecast and bring a cardigan with you!

2) Semi-Casual: Mixed Media Tasseled Midi Dress – Loft ($109.00 CAD)

This beautiful crimson red dress actually fits like more of an A-line style (not empire waistline, despite what the pictures show). I actually bought this with the intention of wearing it as a bridesmaid but I ended up going with something more formal. This dress is simple, but elegant and can be glitzed up with a lace wrap or shawl and some heels. All of the dresses I own from Loft are great quality, which really shows in the fabric. It is so silky soft, and I can’t wait to wear it again!

3) Formal: Knit & Lace Scoop Neck Gown – Le Château ($189.95 CAD)

If the wedding you’re attending is more of a black-tie affair, consider going all out with this knit and lace scoop neck gown from Le Château! The lace detail extending from the neckline to the waist is what got my attention for this dress. I’m a sucker for lace, and I think everyone should wear it (in moderation, of course).

Wedding season is in full swing, so let’s ring those bells, throw that rice, and find you something appropriate to wear for the occasion!
